Ace Combat back for a new opus! Bandai Namco announced Wednesday, August 18 that a new episode of the air combat game was in the cards, after the success of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.
Good news for all fans of military aviation! After the commercial success of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, Bandai Namco announced, during a live performance for the 25 years of the franchise, that a new episode was indeed envisaged, as explained Kazutoki Kono, producer of the game: “More than anything, I hope fans are happy to know that the next game is under development,” he said.
And to specify even that a development studio had already been commissioned for a start-up of the software: Project Aces, internal studio of the Japanese publisher, the same one already taking care of the Ace Combat franchise since 2001. The studio will be helped for this opus by ILCA, which regularly helps different studios for many softs published in the Land of the Rising Sun. A company that should get a little more involved this time, to give the game a new dimension.
“With this new team, we are creating a new Ace Combat, a new era”, continued the producer. And to continue: “I don’t know where we will be in the next 25 years, but the Ace Combat series will continue, and for all those who support us and create with me, I will continue to give everything”. As a reminder, since its release in 2019, Ace Combat 7 has sold more than three million copies. A figure that pushed Bandai Namco to pursue the development of its franchise which hopes – and that is all we wish it – a bright future.
