A new network card that incorporates the elegant VISION design of Gigabyte and its uniformly white dress.
On the face of it, nothing seems to look more like a PCI-Express network card than another PCI-Express network card. However, in the manner of what can be observed on the graphics card market, Gigabyte decided to embellish things.
Marvell AQtion AQC113C
The manufacturer announces the upcoming release of the GC-AQC113C 10G, a 10 GbE network card marketed under the VISION brand. This range is characterized by a uniformly white design based on a wide fairing system.
From the outset, and contrary to what the photos might suggest, the fairing does not seem to have to act as a heat sink. The board itself is therefore designed around the AQtion AQC113C, a 10 GbE controller from Marvell.
It accepts up to category 6A and 7 cables in order to reach speeds of 10 Gbps, but remains fully backward compatible: 5 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps and 10 Mbps. Equipped with a single Ehternet port, the board is low profile and will therefore fit in the smallest configurations.
The GV-AQC113C 10G operates a 3.0 x4 PCIe port and has two brackets (standard and low profile). However, Gigabyte has not deemed it appropriate to communicate a tariff at this time.
